We'll
take the
ferry from Tiburon
to beautiful
Angel Island State Park.
Upon our arrival we'll open up the
Tamron Lens
trunk and let you walk the island while trying different
Tamron Lenses.
Whether you prefer macro, telephoto, or an all-around
MegaZoom, this is your chance to try them all!
Angel Island
is rich in local history. The Miwoks used it for
thousands of years before the Spaniards arrived.
Ayala Cove was the staging area for the earliest
water-based exploration of the Bay Area in 1775.
Following many years of Spanish control of the island,
it served as both a military base and the site of two
government facilities (quarantine and immigration
stations) for nearly 100 years starting in the
mid-1800s. Many of the buildings from these times
are still standing. Not to mention the beautiful
360 degree views of Marin & San Francisco!

Introduction to Workflow for Black
and White Digital Printing

Today's digital photographic technology has opened new
doorways to explore in the creation of black and white
landscape
images. This workshop is for the photographer desiring
to learn and understand the aesthetic and technical
considerations in creating digital black and white
landscape images. We learn to combine traditional Zone
System methodology with new digital black and white
processes. Using Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom tips and
tricks as well as understanding the relationship to the
Epson k3 and Canon series printers will help you unlock
the gorgeous print you have waiting to output!
Workshop topics include: best practices for black and
white image conversion, tone control with levels and
curves, dodging and burning, layer masking, sharpening,
and using the advance black and white print driver
controls for Epson and Canon printers including the
2400, 3800 and 4800 series. Paper and ink will be
provided and examples of various paper substrates will
also be available. Participants should bring image files
RAW, JPG or .PSD, and their own laptop computer for
practice and personalized feedback.
